Who is on the Lord’s side?? I want to know
I am on the Lord’s side
I am on the Lord’s side and the Lord is on my side
As long as I live, as long as I breathe I am on the Lord’s side
This was the title of the message in church one Sunday morning and I got inspired by the Holyspirit to share on this.
“Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. Exodus 32:26 KJV
In fact after this message I had to repent and I told myself that I have to be more intentional about sharing my faith.
You see in this our woke generation, the lines that divides believer from unbelievers is getting blurry, In fact some will even argue that the line no longer exist. Everyone one is now the same, I mean we work in the same place, we go to the same gym, we patronize the same stores, we even go to the same church.(Don’t get it twisted there are many people in church that don’t believe in God, for them its just another place to hangout).
Let’s take it a notch higher;
We listen to the same music
We watch the same movie
We talk the same way.
The real question here is that are we the same?
Exactly whose side are you on?
Who is your Master?
All these was going on in my head during that sermon.
I realized that in the bid to be socially correct and acceptable I have stopped voicing out my truth.
I did not backslide oh and I never stopped talking about my love for Jesus but you will not find me taking a stand publicly on faith matters. I am part of the “let’s just keep quiet gang”.
In a bid not to be called a “judgina” ( but really we should not judge people) I will rather keep quiet even when I can clearly see that someone is not doing the right thing. I mean let me just go and pray for the person. I totally forgot that some people openly fought for the faith we have now, they literally fought with their lives.
I just blended in forgetting that we are the ecclesia; the called out one.
God did not save us to blend in, we are in this world but we are not of this world. We picked sides the moment we decided to accept Him and we must stay true to our decision.
No matter what we do or say we must make sure we remain on the Lord’s side.
Let me mention that the Lord’s side is tough, it is regimented, your will no longer matters (sounds tough right) however it is really rewarding. As humans we really do not have too much sufficiency on our own( in street terms we don’t have too much sense) but being on the Lord’s side makes us wise and formidable.
Yejide alone = Zero
God + Yejide = 100%
From this simple calculation, it is obvious that He is the one making all the contributions. This is exactly how God wants us. Totally dependent on Him.
So now I am brutal, if someone gave His life for me, the least I can do is to defend everything He stands for. Not because He needs my defense but because it helps me stay in formation.
I openly talk about the fact that I am a child of God.
There are some songs I will not listen to.
“Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Proverbs 4:23-27 MSG
There are some movies I will not watch no matter how tempting ( I have watched some in the past that ended up messing my whole faith walk up)
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8 NLT
Sex before marriage is not right (So is all the other paraphernalia like kissing, sexting, smooching etc…they almost always end with sex)
“Honor the sanctity of marriage and keep your vows of purity to one another, for God will judge sexual immorality in any form, whether single or married.” Hebrews 13:4
Modest dressing is still biblical and God wants us to show moderation.
“And that the women would also pray with clean hearts, dressed appropriately and adorned modestly and sensibly, not flaunting their wealth.” 1 Timothy 2:9 TPT
Christianity and its activities is not an excuse to be a bad employee or bad student. Excellence is an attribute God expects from everyone.
“God gave these four young men knowledge and skill in both books and life. In addition, Daniel was gifted in understanding all sorts of visions and dreams. At the end of the time set by the king for their training, the head of the royal staff brought them in to Nebuchadnezzar. When the king interviewed them, he found them far superior to all the other young men. None were a match for Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. And so they took their place in the king’s service. Whenever the king consulted them on anything, on books or on life, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his kingdom put together.” Daniel 1:19-20 MSG
You see that thing we call “wisdom”, its most likely not right. We are just sandwiching it.
All these makes Christianity look like “just cross certain things off your list and you are good”.
I wish it was that simple, infact the more you try to achieve it with your strength the weaker you become. So how do we do all these????
By the help of the Holyspirit.
He will enable you with strength and power when you develop intimacy with Him.
Let everyone know whose side you are on, its time to start shining in this world of darkness.
Love and Revelational Light,
YJ.
PS: If you got to this part, you are most likely not angry with me or think I am self righteous. I am by no means perfect and I fall short too but I will keep trying not to stress the Holyspirit too much and also keep trying not to put myself in any difficult position. Jesus really loves you (plus me too) and He wants us to clear all these cobwebs so we can have a perfect view of what He has in store for us.
God be praised Sis.
